When leaving David Thompson Resort turn north on highway #11 and 1 km before you get to th Mount Mitchener viewpoint you will find an access road immediately east of the highway rock cut - this road leads to a parking area overlooking the point. Climb - From your parked vehicle walk back to the highway #11. Cross the highway and find a path that leads up the grassy slope to the top of the rock cut above the highway. You are now on the spine of Windy Point Ridge. Turn right and begin your climb. The climb is in three steps - first step is through the pines - 500 m later you reacch the top of the first step. The second step is the longest and steepest - there is no path over the rock. The third step is easier and you arrive at the lookout where you will find a rock cairn. Return the same way you came! |
